Ketmia, the China rose (Hibiscus L.), belongs to a type of bushes and green flowering plants of the Malvaceae family which grow in various habitats, from boggy places and forests to rocky areas and deserts.
Its numerous species are cultivated as ornamental plants displaying beautiful multi-coloured flowers which look presentable in the background of green leaves. In moderate weather conditions Syrian ketmia (H. syriacus) is totally cold-hardy.
