- Perennial.
- Develops elevated habit and becomes up to 100 cm high.
- At the end of July and at the beginning of August on tops of leaved stems displays thick, dome-shaped inflorescences containing fragrant red and pink flowers approximately 3.5 cm across.
- Prefers fertile soils which are moderately wet all the time.
- It is recommended to divide its root ball and re-plant it every 4-5 years.
- Cold hardy.
