- It is most probably a hybrid of white mulberry (Morus alba) and red mulberry (M. rubra).
- Attractive small tree with dark green foliage, grows vigorously up to 3-4 m high; its leaves turn stunningly yellow in autumn.
- Bears fruits which are almost black, dark burgundy in hue and largely devoid of seeds, they can become even 2 cm long, in flavour similar to blackberry fruits – can be enjoyed raw and dried.
- They are rich in vitamins and have a high content of antioxidants which make them extremely healthy.
- Boasts a very long harvesting season which lasts from June to September
