  • American sweetgum ‘Worplesdon’ is a tree that grows up to 15 m tall. Its crown is regular and conical.
  • The trunk is straight, gray-brown.
  • Its leaves, similar to those of maple leaves, are arranged in a spiral pattern on the shoots. In autumn, they turn intensely red and orange. It is extremely decorative at this time.
  • In May, conspicuous, single, yellow-green flowers appear. They are not overly ornamental.
  • The fruit bodies are spherical and spiny.
  • A sunny location (it develops better color), with slightly acidic soil, moderately moist, well-drained, and fertile.
  • Frost hardiness down to -26°C. Young plants should be covered for the winter during the first few years of cultivation.
