Crispa

Betula pendula
  • A tree with a decorative, ovoid, rather narrow crown. Long, hanging shoots. It grows quickly, up to 20 m high.
  • The bark on young shoots is initially dark, on old shoots it is white and smooth, peeling off in a circular fashion.
  • The leaves are jagged and deeply cut. In autumn, they turn decoratively yellow.
  • The tree is undemanding to the soil (it grows well on barren, dry and sandy soils). Sunny position. It tolerates air pollution very well, so it is suitable for urban plantings and parks.
