Rosa villosa (syn. Rosa pomifera)
  • Variety selected at the Plant Breeding Institute in Bojnice (Slovakia – 1973).
  • A bush with a loose, erect habit with a large number of shoots, grows up to 2 m high.
  • Shoots with quite numerous thorns.
  • Single, large, light pink flowers.
  • Large, light red fruit elongated to even 4 cm in length, very valuable (they contain vitamin C, data indicate as much as 1250 mg%).
  • Sheep are used for jams, teas, wines or liqueurs.
  • Large and early yield, ripens at the turn of August and early September.
  • Suitable for unformed hedges. Tolerates air pollution well.
  • Cold hardy.
