- ‘Bluecrop’ is still a fundamental production cultivar in our climate, best-known and appreciated; standard variety to which all cultivars are compared.
- Its shrubs grow up to 1.6-2 m high.
- Gives big berries of very good quality, suitable for manual and mechanical harvesting (especially later crops); very tasty, good for both direct consumption and storing.
- Its fruit ripen from the first decade of August, it gives high yield, 4-9 kg per shrub; ‘Bluecrop’ is a moderately early cultivar, high-yielding, very good for commercial and amateur planting.
- Grows vigorously, also in drier positions; prefers drier soils, in heavy and wet soils more susceptible to stem and root diseases.
- One of the most tolerant blueberry cultivars to late spring ground frosts.
- Cold hardiness -34°C (USDA zone 4).
