• A small shrub, usually growing up to 1.5 m tall and wide.
  • The basal shoots are straight and arching, hanging down.
  • The flowers are small, pinkish-white, on short peduncles, gathered in paniculate inflorescences that appear in August.
  • The decorative fruits ripen earlier and later. They are purplish-violet, spherical, and gathered in short, terminal seed heads on the shoots. The color is extremely practical, making the shrub very decorative at this time of year. The fruits remain on the shrub long after the leaves have fallen.
  • Sunny or partly shaded location. Fertile, well-drained, or slightly acidic soil.
  • This variety is frost-sensitive, recommended for warmer regions of the country.
