- Develops extremely compact, ball-shaped cushion habit; a low growing shrub reaching up to 50 cm high.
- Its leaves appear in early spring, in summer they become lemon-yellow in hue and in autumn strong orange and red coloured; displays light violet/pink flowers.

- Requires sunny positions; its leaves in shaded positions become yellowish green.
