- Boasts glossy dark green leaves, brown in the winter, above 6 cm long and over 3 cm across, with pleasant spiced fragrance.
- Its flowers mauve in colour, gathered in several flower trusses on tops of sprouts, with a darker spotting inside, above 4 cm across. Blooms very early, at the end of April and at the beginning of May.
