Pink Delight

Buddleja davidii 'Pink Delight'
  • Develops beautiful thick and broadly branched shrubs with an elevated habit and stems sagging under the weight of top inflorescences.
  • Grows up to 2.0-3.0m high but when pruned every year at its base it does not reach more than 1.5-2.0m high.
  • Develops small, elliptical dark green leaves which are from greyish-white to light green in colour and mossy on the underside; in mild winters some leaves may remain green on the bush.
  • Blooms on annual stems.
  • Displays cone-like inflorescences which are pink in hue and become even 40cm long; its flowers produce strong scent, they are melliferous and attract butterflies and other insects.
  • Its blooming usually begins at the beginning of July and lasts several weeks.
  • Spring pruning recommended every year.
  • Removal of withered inflorescences stimulates the plant to develop new flower buds which considerably prolongs its blooming period (even till late autumn).
