- Described for the first time by the Research Station for Woody Nursery Crops in Boskoop, 1975.
- After 10 years grows up to about 3 m high and 2.5 m wide.
- Develops oval, light green and slightly matt leaves, approximately 11 cm long and 6 cm wide.
- Displays sumptuous big funnel-like flowers, approximately 10 cm high and 6 cm wide, which are light red in hue and bloom profusely in mid May.
- Cold hardy down to -23°C (USDA zone 6).
