- It is a dwarf and compact form of the well-known species Rhododendron orbiculare with similarly rounded leaves that are smaller.
- It grows after 10 years of cultivation to a height of 75 to 100 cm, compact, domed habit.
- Light pink, bell-shaped flowers gathered in loose umbels. It blooms in early summer – a fairly late blooming species.
- It blooms profusely from an early age.
