- Grows slowly into a conical habit tree, branches well and reaches the height of 4-5m.
- Its sprouts are twisted and bowed, when young they are green and with age become brown and red in hue; its main trunk is covered with a slightly bent and rolling white bark.
- Develops rhomb like leaves which boast s-shaped stalks, in autumn its foliage turns yellow.
- Soil tolerant but requires positions in full sun.
- Cold hardy.
