- Grows up to about 1.0-1.5 m high and 1.0-1.3 m across.
- Boasts strongly serrated leaves which in autumn turn red.
- Displays extremely attractive, large, panicle-like purely white inflorescences which develop from early summer until the first autumnal frosts (July-September); they are attractively displayed against a background of red foliage.
- Blooms profusely.
- Prefers rich, fertile, acidic and moist soils.
- Thrives best in half-shaded positions, protected against cold winds but also tolerates sunny positions.
- Boasts extremely good cold hardiness but it is recommended to cover its root base with a bedding mound.
