  • Low tree, rather slowly growing, wide-oval shape, regular and symmetrical crown. After many years it grows to 6 m in height and up to 4.5 m in diameter.
  • Leaves in spring red-brown, in summer dark green, leathery, oval-lanceolate, in autumn they change colour to intense red and stay on the shoots for a long time.
  • It blooms early before the leaves develop. Flowers in buds yellowish (characteristic feature), after unfolding white, large, delicately scented.
  • Fruit decorative and edible, sweet, purple, spherical, quite large, diameter up to about 9 mm. It blooms and bears fruit abundantly.
  • Location both in full sun and in partial shade.
  • The plant has no special requirements, grows well in average, permeable soils. It tolerates pollution and periodic drought well.
  • Variety resistant to diseases.
  • Frost-resistant.
