Amelanchier lamarckii
  • Shrubs or small trees with a spreading habit. It grows 2-3 m high and similarly wide.
  • Young leaves are brownish in spring, dark green, shiny, broadly elliptical in summer. In autumn they turn bright purple-red.
  • Flowers white, on long peduncles, gathered in clusters. It blooms abundantly in April/May, before the leaves develop.
  • Fruits spherical, gathered in clusters, bright red, ripe purple-black, large, juicy and sweet, edible. They appear in July/August. Eagerly eaten by birds.
  • Variety recommended for espalier and hedges.
  • Prefers a sunny to semi-shady position.
  • Fully frost-resistant.
