  • A low, compact, evergreen shrub.
  • Small, elliptical, dark green, and glossy leaves. Young leaves are slightly pubescent.
  • Pure pink flowers. Blooms profusely in May.
  • Prefers a partially shaded location, acidic pH, and average, moderately moist garden soil.
  • It is readily planted in home gardens, but also in parks, rock gardens, and heathlands.
  • Fairly frost-resistant; it is recommended for planting in sheltered locations sheltered from winter winds.
