Japanese rhododendron, Japanese azalea (Rhododendron molle (Blume) G. Don subsp. japonicum (A. Gray) Kron) – a subspecies of Rhododendron molle. These are usually compact shrubs that are characterized by very slow growth and a huge number of flowers that appear in spring in May.
