- A dwarf evergreen shrub. After 10 years, it grows to 40-60 cm in height and approximately 50-80 cm in width.
- The leaves are semi-evergreen, glossy, and slightly rounded at the tips.
- The flowers, unusually large for a dwarf form, are dark pink. Blooms profusely in mid-May.
- Prefers sunny to partly shaded locations and humus-rich, acidic soil.
- Relatively easy to grow, these plants have no special site requirements.
- They are perfect for small home gardens, rock gardens, heathlands, and Japanese gardens.
- Frost-hardy.
