Saskatoon (Amelanchier alnifolia) – is a shrub or a small tree from the Rosaceae family. Depending on a variety they can reach 1.5–4 m high. They are undemanding in cultivation and do well in most soils. They prefer full sun but are draught intolerant. Saskatoon is usually high yielding and its sweet fruit can be enjoyed raw, they are also good for preserves and jams.
