- A small, evergreen shrub with a creeping habit. After 10 years, it grows to 30 cm high and approximately 70 cm wide.
- The leaves are dark green, small, and glossy.
- The flowers are crimson-pink, with a reddish marking on the upper petal. It is one of the latest varieties to bloom – in early June.
- It prefers a semi-shaded location and average garden soil, moderately moist, with an acidic pH.
- It is readily planted in home gardens, but also in parks, rock gardens, and heathlands.
- It is quite frost-hardy; it is recommended to plant it in sheltered locations sheltered from winter winds.
