- A small evergreen shrub. It reaches a height and width of up to 90 cm.
- The plants produce two types of leaves – spring and summer. The spring leaves are distributed along the entire length of the young growth. The summer leaves are clustered around the flower buds at the tips of the shoots. The leaf blades are green and glossy. The leaves remain on the shrub in winter.
- The flowers are pink, gathered in numerous inflorescences. They appear in April and May.
- It prefers sunny to partly shaded locations and humus-rich, acidic soil.
- Relatively easy to grow, these plants have no special site requirements.
- They are perfect for small home gardens, rock gardens, heathlands, and Japanese gardens.
- Frost-hardy.
