- Perennial.
- Develops elevated habit, becomes up to 80-100 cm high.
- In July and August, on tops of its stems displays scented flowers, crimson and violet in hue, good for cut flowers.
- Does well in fertile, humus soils with neutral or slightly acidic pH; in the summer prefers wet soils and sunny or half-shaded positions.
- Cold-hardy.
