- A dwarf variety. A shrub with a loose and spreading habit. After 10 years of cultivation, it grows to 0.8 m tall and 1 m wide.
- The leaves are matte and elliptical, semi-evergreen, turning brown-red in autumn.
- The flowers are large, 6.5 to 7.5 cm in diameter, purple-red, with a dark red pattern on the upper petals. Individual flowers are clustered in showy, large inflorescences of 2-3. It blooms profusely in late May and the first week of June.
- Requires partial shade or full sun and acidic soil (pH: 3.5-4.5), moderately moist, and humus-rich.
- It blends well in borders with other evergreens and acid-loving plants from the heather family.
- The variety is sensitive to frost, so it is recommended to cover it carefully for winter and plant it in warmer regions of the country, in sheltered and sheltered locations.
