• An evergreen, creeping shrub.
  • It has two types of shoots: sterile (creeping along the ground and rooting) and flowering (rising to about 10-15 cm in height). The shoots grow about 0.3-0.8 m annually.
  • The leaves are elliptical, 2-3 cm long, leathery, decorative, golden yellow with a dark green, irregular margin. The color is particularly intense on young leaves. They are resistant to sunburn.
  • The purple-blue flowers, 2-3 cm in diameter, appear in the leaf axils of annual flowering shoots. It blooms from April to September, with the most profuse blooms in May.
  • A groundcover plant, also suitable for container cultivation.
  • At a partially shaded to shady location, or in full sun if the soil is sufficiently moist. This variety requires more light for good leaf color. Humus-rich and fresh soils.
  • This variety is very hardy. It has good frost resistance, but may freeze during snowless winters, but it regenerates well in spring.
