• Grown in Maarse Brothers Nursery, Netherlands, 1938.
  • Wide shrub. A less vigorous grower than other cultivars, 3 m high.
  • Displays purple red flowers with a white contrasting edge. Single flowers, fragrant. Blooms in May.
  • Because of the mutual origin of the cultivar, during in-vitro propagation about 15% of plants might have pale pink flowers instead of typical for a cultivar. In a period where there is no leaves typical plants might be seperated because they have dark buds. Untypical plants have pale green buds. Because of that buying ‘Sensation’ our customers get 15% more plants and they are asked to do the selection in the first period with no leaves.
  • Resistant to city conditions.
  • Prefers full sun.
  • Very popular in the USA.
  • Suitable for zone 5a USDA.
