Webba Cenny (Webb’s Prize)

Corylus avellana

In production:

  • English variety.
  • Grows moderately, grows up to 4-6 m in height. Conical crown, compact.
  • Large or very large nuts, slightly flattened, blunt, long, collected in clusters of 2-5 pieces. The shell is thin, yellow-brown, light and quite brittle. The kernel completely fills the inside and is very tasty.
  • It yields profusely. Quickly enters the period of fruiting – even in the first year after planting.
  • Eagerly planted in gardens and allotments due to its medium height.
  • The variety is a very good pollinator for the others.
  • For a better yield, it is good to plant near a pollinator for better fruiting. It can be, for example, the variety Giant from Halle, Catalan.
  • Ripens in late August to mid-October.
  • It is hardy to -20ºC.
