- An evergreen, dense, and creeping shrub.
- Stems lying on the ground take root, completely covering the soil. Recommended as a groundcover in gardens. Flowering stems are slightly erect.
- Leaves are small, dark green, and leathery.
- Flowers are purple-blue. Blooms profusely in April-May.
- Grows well in fertile, sufficiently moist soil. Partial shade to full shade, or full sun if the soil is sufficiently moist.
- Frost-hardy.
