- An old variety, cultivated without a name for a long time; named by Rein and Mark Bulk about 1980.
- Develops a compact bush, becomes up to 150 cm high.
- Boasts large leaves similar to those of an oak, covered with hairs on the bottom, they turn red and violet in the autumn and become extremely ornamental.
- Displays flowers gathered in long panicles; its large white flowers are barren, those greenish are prolific; blooms profusely from July to September.
- Prefers acidic soils (4.5-5.5 pH).
- Does well in half-shade and in full sun.
- Similar to Hydrangea quercifolia SNOW QUEEN ‘Flemygea’.
