• Cultivar bred by dr. K.-H. Hübbers, Kranenburg, Germany. ‘Olympic Wedding’ and ‘Goodrich’ hybrid, 1988, registered in 2002.
  • Boasts a ball-shaped habit, grows up to 120 cm high in 10 years.
  • Flower buds pale pink, almost white. In some years, maybe depending on weather conditions in winter and/or springtime, they can be mauve. They open into very dark flowers inside, reddish black, the margins show a whitish small rim. The darkest variety so far blooming almost 2 weeks later than most and so extending the flowering period of kalmias.
  • Most sought after kalmia cultivar due to its extraordinary flowers.
  • Totally cold hardy as all kalmias.
