  • Develops oval or lanceolate shiny dark green leaves; its young sprouts are reddish in hue and ornamental.
  • Blooms from April to May, displays numerous bell-shaped white flowers gathered in slightly drooping, dense panicles.
  • Thrives in fertile and sandy and clayey soils with an acidic pH; prefers sunny or half-shaded positions.
  • Requires winter coverings, especially in the first years of cultivation, prefers sheltered positions.
